The Going Green Campaign

We at Sharavathy believe in a sustainable, green future and are continually taking important steps as part of our Going Green Campaign to protect our environment. The principles behind our Going Green Campaign is simple: we complete a minimum of 10 green steps for each project executed or product produced, no matter the size of the commitment. As an organization, in 2018 we installed solar panels across our factories to ensure our energy source is clean and renewable. Factoring the fact that steel structures generally used in India need to be replaced due to breakdown and deterioration, we have taken necessary steps to ensure the use of cleaner steel and sustainable materials for our projects. In this way, Sharavathy is committed to ensure longevity, low defects and efficient use of natural resources.

We value the Indian government’s Swachh Bharat campaign and our execution teams have emphasised no dumping of materials on site, and cleaning of sites after every project in a means to preserve earth’s beauty as part of the Going Green Campaign. In addition, before each product is produced or project is initiated, we follow guidelines to source raw materials from sustainable vendors and greater amounts of recyclable materials.

Community

We believe we are proudly bestowed with the responsibility of powering the lives of thousands and aid the development of unpowered towns and cities. We consider the local community as one of the most important stakeholders in our business and actively find a way to work with harmonious coexistence. Over the years, we have empowered locals with rewarding jobs and helped build a career for them. We continually work to train and develop workers’ skills and support the locals we employ for our projects.

Sharavathy believes in the greater good of the community and is continually recognized for its welfare contributions. Recognizing the problems of our migrant employees during the Covid-19 pandemic, we at Sharavathy ensured our employees and their families are provided free masks, sanitizers, stay and food. At a corporate level, Sharavathy ensured that safety of employees comes first as SOPs were implemented and shared before employees were asked to return to Sharavathy offices. In addition, Sharavathy offered many employees the option to work from home in the greater interest of health and safety.
